British Polo Day
Our role was to support with not only brand awareness and sponsor exposure, but also with identifying and securing new partners. Key sponsorship partners included, Chelsea Barracks, Royal Salute, Vista Jet, Burgess Yachts, Harrods and Nyetimber. Mercury Communications began working with British Polo Day in 2017 – it is an invitation-only global platform to build relationships with some of the world’s most dynamic and most interesting individuals, through distinct experiences hosted in iconic destinations.
Impact
Mercury secured coverage across a diverse array of titles including Tatler, The Times, BA High Life, Family Office Magazine and The Wealth Scene, this supported the retaining of key sponsors by delivering PR for them, not just for the client. By acting as hub agency, we ensured key messages were aligned across the globe
Approach
Profiling focused on founder Tom Hudson and CEO Ben Vestey, along with significant players such as the no.1 male player in the world Adolfo Cambiaso, and no.1 female Nina Clarkin. Intimate press Q&As were organised with key players. We liaised with British Polo Day’s chosen charities, such as The Royal Foundation and Sentebale, due to Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex playing on occasion with British Polo Day, and to date BPD has raised USD$2.2m. Mercury, as the hub PR agency, also developed PR toolkits for their Asian and Indian PR agencies.
